If you’d told me at the beginning of the year that I would be falling for stalkers and serial killers in my romance novels, I would’ve called you crazy. I received an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review When the time comes to act, will Mara be ready? And I’m tempting her to do things she never thought she’d do… She’s peeling away my secrets, one by one. The more I push her, the more she pushes back. She’s living in my house, always with me, always under my control. Is Mara the only girl he has stalked at all hours of the day? Not to mention I NEED to know what happens to Shaw.* Do NOT read this synopsis if you haven’t read There Are No Saints. I need to know what made Cole become this crazy serial killer. I cant wait to start reading the second book. But also through in a bada** who will literally fight for what she wants. She is your typical struggling artist that is working multiple jobs and still struggling to make ends meet.
But that thought quickly got shut down by finding out all that she went through in life. Mara: She first came off as a push over, or someone who doesn't know what she wants. You find yourself trying to analyze every line trying to figure out what makes him tick, what makes him this way? You never do find out why he is the way he is, but you see a strong character development happening. I myself don't find so much stuff disturbing, so it didn't bother me.Ĭole: You start by reading about a guy who is mysterious and elusive. However once it all started to pick up, I couldn't out down the book.Ī few things to remember this book is very dark, so check the TW before getting into this book. The beginning of the book did start out very slow and a little boring. Ill gladly have Cole Blackwell stalk me through the dark streets any day. The chemistry is scorching hot, so much so that I don't even think a fire extinguisher could put it out 🔥🔥🔥 BUT don't get that confused with spice/smut since this book was lacking until the very end.
You have a deranged serial killer stalker and a fragile broke artist fighting their intense feelings for each other. Like many have already mentioned, this is VERY similar to "YOU". The beginning is a bit slow and didn't have much action but it did get better. You have a serial killer/stalker and a young poor artist fighting their attraction for each other. This book is very similar to YOU but better in my opinion. When he finds out Mara survived the attack he becomes intrigued with Mara which leads to an obsession. His only weakness is the dark impulses he carefully conceals so when his biggest rival in the art world and in the serial killer world Alastor Shaw kidnaps Mara and leaves her on that path for Cole he walks away so that he doesn't give in to impulse. He’s the hottest sculptor in San Francisco, wealthy, successful, and respected. She doesn't know it yet but that man who found her like that and left her there is Cole Blackwell the city's most popular artist. Mara doesn't know who did this or why but she does know that the most beautiful man she's ever seen walks up to her and just stares down at her before walking away and leaving her for dead.
When leaving an art show one night she is knocked out and kidnapped taken to the woods where she is left on a path naked, bound, and with her wrists cut. She and her fellow artist roommates try to find the spotlight one show at a time. Mara is a young struggling artist living with other young artists.
